allāhu akbar
Allah Is The Great

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ
subḥānallāh
Glory Be To Allah

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ
al ḥamdu lillāh
Praise Be To Allah
4
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى آدَمَ صَفْوَةِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alā-ādama ṣafwatillāh
Peace be upon Adam the choice of Allah.
5
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى نُوْحٍ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alā nūḥin nabiyyillāh
Peace be upon Noah the prophet of Allah.
6
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alā ibrāhīma khalīlillāh
Peace be upon Abraham the friend of Allah.
7
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُوْسَى كَلِيْمِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alā mūsā kalīmillāh
Peace be upon Moses the spoken by Allah.
8
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عِيْسَى رُوْحِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alā `īsā rūḥillāh
Peace be upon Jesus the spirit of Allah.
9
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā rasūlallāh
Peace be upon you, O Allah’s Messenger.
10
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَيْرَ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā khayra khalqillāh
Peace be upon you, O Allah’s best creature.
11
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفِيَّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā ṣafiyyallāh
Peace be upon you, O elite of Allah.
12
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā muḥammadabna `abdillāh
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Abdullah
13
خَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ
khātaman nabiyyīn
and the seal of the Prophets.
14
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
as salāmu `alayka yā amīral mu-minīn
Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful
15
عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِيْ طَالِبٍ
`aliyyabna abī ṭālib
`Ali the son of Abu-Talib
16
وَصِيَّ رَسُوْلِ اللَّهِ
waṣiyya rasūlillāh
and the successor of Allah’s Messenger.
17
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا فَاطِمَةُ
as salāmu `alayki yā fāṭimah
Peace be upon you, O Fatimah
18
سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
sayyidata nisā-il `ālamīn
the doyenne of the women of the worlds.
19
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمَا يَا سِبْطَيِ الرَّحْمَةِ
as salāmu `alaykumā yā sibṭayir raḥmah
Peace be upon both of you, O grandsons of the Mercy
20
وَسَيَّدَيْ شَبَابِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ
wasayyaday shabābi ahlil jannah
and two chiefs of the youth of Paradise.
21
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ
as salāmu `alayka yā `aliyyubnal ḥusayn
Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of al-Husayn,
22
سَيِّدَ الْعَابِدِيْنَ وَقُرَّةَ عَيْنِ النَّاظِرِيْنَ
sayyidal `ābidīna waqurrata `aynin nāẓirīn
the chief of the worshippers and the delight of the eye of all seers.
23
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ
as salāmu `alayka yā muḥammadubna `aliyy
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Ali,
24
بَاقِرَ الْعِلْمِ بَعْدَ النَّبِيِّ
bāqiral `ilmi ba`dan nabiyy
the splitter of knowledge after the Prophet.
25
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا جَعْفَرُ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ
as salāmu `alayka yā ja`farubna muḥammad
Peace be upon you, O Ja`far the son of Muhammad,
26
اَلصَادِقُ الْبَارُّ الْأَمِيْنَ
al ṣādiqul bārrul amīn
the veracious, dutiful, and honest.
27
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُوْسَى بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ
as salāmu `alayka yā mūsabna ja`far
Peace be upon you, O Musa the son of Ja`far,
28
اَلطَّاهِرُ الْطُّهْرُ
aṭ ṭāhiruṭ ṭuhr
the immaculate and ever-pure.
29
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُوْسَى
as salāmu `alayka yā `aliyyubna mūsā
Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of Musa,
30
اَلرِّضَا الْمُرْتَضَى
ar riḍal mur-taḍā
the well-pleased and well-contented.
31
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ التَّقِيُّ
as salāmu `alayka yā muḥammadubna `aliyyinit taqiyy
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Ali, the pious.
32
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ
as salāmu `alayka yā `aliyyubna muḥammad
Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of Muhammad,
33
اَلنَّقِيُّ النَّاصِحَ الْأَمِيْنُ
an naqiyyun nāṣiḥal amīn
the immaculate, sincere, and honest.
34
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَسَنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ
as salāmu `alayka yā ḥasanubna `aliyy
Peace be upon you, O Hasan the son of `Ali.
35
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْوَصِيِّ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ
as salāmu `alal waṣiyyi min ba`dih
Peace be upon the next successor.
36
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى نُوْرِكَ وَسِرَاجِكَ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā nūrika wasirājik
O Allah, send blessings upon Your light, Your lantern,
37
وَوَلِيِّ وَلِيِّكَ
wawaliyyi waliyyik
the representative of Your representative,
38
وَوَصِيِّ وَصِيِّكَ
wawaṣiyyi waṣiyyik
the successor of Your successor,
39
وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَى خَلْقِكَ
waḥujjatika `alā khalqik
and the argument of You against Your creatures.
40
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ رَسُوْلِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta rasūlillāh
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Allah’s Messenger.
41
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ فَاطِمَةَ وَخَدِيْـجَةَ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta fāṭimata wakhadījah
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Fatimah and Khadijah.
42
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ أَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta amīril mu-minīn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of the Commander of the Faithful.
43
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ
as salāmu `alayki yā bintal ḥasani walḥusayn
Peace be upon you, O daughter of al-Hasan and al-Husayn.
44
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta waliyyillāh
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Allah’s representative.
45
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا أُخْتَ وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayki yā ukhta waliyyillāh
Peace be upon you, O sister of Allah’s representative.
46
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا عَمَّةَ وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayki yā `ammata waliyyillāh
Peace be upon you, O paternal aunt of Allah’s representative.
47
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مُوْسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ
as salāmu `alayki yā binta mūsabni ja`far
Peace be upon you, O daughter of Musa the son of Ja`far.
48
وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
Allah’s mercy and blessings, too, be upon you.
49
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ
as salāmu `alayk
Peace be upon you.
50
عَرَّفَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ فِيْ الْجَنَّةِ
`arrafallāhu baynanā wabaynakum fil jannah
May Allah introduce us to you all in Paradise,
51
وَحَشَرَنَا فِيْ زُمْرَتِكُمْ
waḥasharanā fī zumratikum
include us with your group,
52
وَأَوْرَدَنَا حَوْضَ نَبِيِّكُمْ
wa-awradanā ḥawḍa nabiyyikum
allow us to approach the pond of Your Prophet,
53
وَسَقَانَا بِكَأْسِ جَدِّكُمْ
wasaqānā bika-si jaddikum
and serve us with water from the cup of your grandfather
54
مِنْ يَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِيْ طَالِبٍ
min yadi `aliyyibni abī ṭālib
and from the hand of `Ali the son of Abu-Talib.
55
صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ
ṣalawātullāhi `alaykum
Allah’s blessings be upon you all.
56
أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُرِيَنَا فِيْكُمُ السُّرُوْرَ وَالْفَرَجَ
as-alullāha an yuriyanā fīkumus surūra walfaraj
I beseech Allah to show us delight and relief through you,
57
وَأَنْ يَجْمَعَنَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ فِيْ زُمْرَةِ جَدِّكُمْ
wa-an yajma`anā wa-iyyākum fī zumrati jaddikum
to join us with you in the group of your grandfather
58
مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
muḥammadin ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa-ālih
Muhammad, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Household,
59
وَأَنْ لَا يَسْلُبَنَا مَعْرِفَتَكُمْ
wa-an lā yaslubanā ma`rifatakum
and never to deprive us of our recognition of you.
60
إِنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ قَدِيْرٌ
innahu waliyyun qadīr
Verily, He is Guardian and All-powerful.
61
أَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ بِحُبِّكُمْ
ataqarrabu ilallāhi biḥubbikum
I seek nearness to Allah through my love for you,
62
وَالْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكُمْ
walbarā-ati min a`dā-ikum
repudiation of your enemies,
63
وَالتَّسْلِيْمِ إِلَى اللَّهِ
wat taslīmi ilallāh
and submission to Allah,
64
رَاضِيًا بِهِ غَيْرَ مُنْكِرٍ وَلَا مُسْتَكْبِرٍ
rāḍiyan bihi ghayra munkirin walā mustakbir
accepting Him without denial or arrogance,
65
وَعَلَى يَقِيْنِ مَا أَتَى بِهِ مُحَمَّدٌ
wa`alā yaqīni mā atā bihi muḥammad
being fully certain of what Muhammad has brought,
66
وَبِهِ رَاضٍ
wabihi rāḍ
and showing full satisfaction with it.
67
نَطْلُبُ بِذٰلِكَ وَجْهَكَ
naṭlubu bidhālika wajhak
We, through this, only seek Your Face,
68
يَا سَيِّدِيْ اَللَّهُمَّ وَرِضَاكَ
yā sayyidī allāhumma wariḍāk
O my Master Allah, and Your satisfaction
69
وَالدَّارَ الْأٓخِرَةَ
wad dāral ākhirah
as well as the Next Abode.
70
يَا فَاطِمَةُ اشْفَعِيْ لِيْ فِيْ الْجَنَّةِ
yā fāṭimatushfa`ī lī fil jannah
O Fatimah, [please] intercede for me to win Paradise,
71
فَإِنَّ لَكِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ شَأْنًا مِنَ الشَّأْنِ
fa-inna laki `indallāhi sha-nan minash sha-n
for you enjoy an outstanding status with Allah.
72
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَخْتِمَ لِيْ بِالسَّعَادَةِ
allāhumma innī as-aluka an takhtima lī bissa`ādah
O Allah, I do beseech You to seal my life with happiness;
73
فَلَا تَسْلُبْ مِنِّيْ مَا أَنَا فِيْهِ
falā taslub minnī mā ana fīh
so, [please] do not deprive me of that which I enjoy.
74
وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْمِ
walā ḥawla walā quwwata illā billāhil `aliyyil `aẓīm
There is neither might nor power except with Allah the All-high and All-great.
75
اَللَّهُمَّ اسْتَجِبْ لَنَا
allāhummastajib lanā
O Allah, [please] respond to us
76
وَتَقَبَّلْهُ بِكَرَمِكَ وَعِزَّتِكَ
wataqabbalhu bikaramika wa`izzatik
and accept this from us in the name of Your generosity, almightiness,
77
وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ وَعَافِيَتِكَ
wabiraḥmatika wa`āfiyatik
mercy, and bestowal of wellbeing.
78
وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ أَجْمَعِيْنَ
waṣallallāhu `alā muḥammadin wa-ālihi ajma`īn
May Allah bless Muhammad and his entire Household
79
وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيْمًا يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
wasallama taslīman yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
and pour down peace on them, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.
